CALLING ALL CATHOLIC WOMEN

Are you interested in participating in a Catholic lay organization that will enhance you spiritually, socially and intellectually?  Then, we invite you to become a member of IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY COURT #134 LADIES AUXILIARY OF ST. PETER CLAVER.  The Knights and Ladies of St. Peter Claver is the only fraternal religious organization that involves your whole family.  Our organization is filled with limitless opportunities for zealous Catholics to work for their parish.

 

 

 

THE SPIRITUAL BENEFITS AND CONTRIBUTIONS INCLUDE:

                Frequent Holy Communion in a body.

                Uniformed participation in religious ceremonies.

                Participation in Days of Recollection, Prayer Breakfasts/Services, Bible Study.

                Masses for all deceased members.

                Substantial financial contributions to our Church and School, and other

                civic, community and religious orders.

 

 

OUR OBJECTIVES ARE:

                To be staunch supporters to our Pastor.

                To participate collectively in various parish activities.

                To promote Civic and Community Improvements.

                To encourage Lay Apostolic and Catholic Action.

                To make contributions to worthwhile causes, i.e., NAACP, UNCF, etc.

                To award scholarships.

                To provide mutual aid and assistance to fellow members.

                To foster recreational assemblies and facilities.

                To develop our youth spiritually, academically, socially and culturally.

                To provide social and intellectual fellowship.

 

OUR SOCIAL PROGRAM INCLUDES:

                Activities of an educational, recreational and athletic nature, such as, annual picnic, banquets,

dances, workshops, theater outings, fund-raising projects and other activities. 

 

OUR CORPORAL WORKS INCLUDE:  Administration/Coordination of the OSP Diner.

Participation in our State, District and National meetings will offer you an opportunity for fraternization, cultural improvement, and broadening your local and national acquaintance with fellow Catholics.

Our National Programs include:  Charity Fund Appeal, Soaring High A Tutorial Program, Sickle Cell National Project, Our Mother of Africa Chapel located within the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.  Our District Programs include:  Holy Innocent Victims, Claver Basket and Scholarships.

 

COURT HONORS: Northern District Conference: 1991 Woman of the Year Lady Anita Herron; Lady Estelle Baker, 1997 Woman of the Year; 1997 Honorable Mention Court of the Year ;  Court of the Year-  1998, 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2009;  Lady Karen Britton, 2001 Counselor of the Year; 2004 Woman of the Year  Lady Janean Johnson; 2005 Woman of the Year Lady Ernestine Hutcherson;  2006 Woman of the Year Lady Evalyn Cleggs; 2007 Counselor of the Year, Lady Sharon Binion; National Convention: Silver Medal of Merit Awards Northern District- Lady Anita Herron, 1993, Lady Evalyn Cleggs, 1998, Lady JoAnn Ball, 2003, Lady Ernestine Hutcherson, 2004, Lady Anitra Hutcherson, 2006; Financial Secretary of the Year - Lady Jo Ann Ball, 1998; 1st Place for Expansion Award for Northern District, 2000; named 2001 Family of the Year; 2002 National Court of the Year; Anita M. Herron, named National Grand Lady of the Year, 2002; Lady Karen Britton, named 2004 National Counselor of the Year; Lady Sharon Binion, named 2005 Assistant Counselor of the Year, Lady Janean Johnson named 2007 Assistant Counselor of the Year.  Ladies Clara Holley and Bernadine Tolbert also received the Silver Medal of Merit (1980’s).  Jr. Daughter Yakima Whitehead – 1st place recipient 2006 Debutante Cotillion scholarship.

 

We also extend an invitation to children and youth, ages 7 through 17, to join the Junior Daughters.
